i want a C.A. cichlid for my 45 gal. tank but it cant be a wimp, or a run-of-the-mill fish. it also has to like feeder fish (although i wont feed them to it except for the occasional treat).

could i keep a JD? i only want 1-2 fish for the tank so agg. isn't a problem

You might be able to get away with the Crenicichla Belly crawler. I don't think they get to huge and they love feeders. maybe some of the Dwarf pikes like comp. and regani.

'belly crawlers' should be in at least 55gal.....they do get large...lol....and aggressive...but the dwarfs would work. I second the Amphilophus lyonsi...:D Gorgeous fish!

they'd be cool but grammodes get to aggressive, to have anything else with them in that tank, they are known as mini-dovii

could i keep a GT?

a midas is out fo the question right?

i remember jeff saying they max out at 6-8 inches but i guess i misunderstood. i was under the impression that they stay small compared to some of the other larger pikes. i have a buddy that just had a batch of lyonsi fry but i just don't have the space for them right now.
