Here&There
My tap water is pH7.2. My aquarium water in my 240, even with Seachem Neutral Regulator, is pH7.6. My tank used to shift slightly to acid if I waited a couple weeks between WCs. I have 3 large & 2 small pieces of driftwood and a 10"RoyalPanaque (don't know if his poo affects pH since he eats lot of wood. Anyone?). I have 3 Fluval404s, an Emperor 400, and an Emp280. One of the 404s has a media basket filled with lava rock. The rest have biomax, filter pad and/or carbon. I know that stability is more important than precission in this case, but I would still like to understand what is going on. Maybe a chem jedi could help me out?

What's the substrate in your tank?
In one of my tanks I have quartz gravel with a lot of coral sand mixed in. The coral keeps the pH at 7.6 regardless of the pH of the water I use.
