Media for FX5

Just wanted to know what media you guys run in a multi basket setup? Any recommendations from trial and error on a solid combo? So far from what I have gotten in the filtration section I should just use biomax in all three chambers and a pad at the bottom of the third one. I have also been told biomax top, bioballs (i assume scrubbies would also work here) in the middle, and a filter at the bottom.

Just wondering what you guys have come up with that works well for rays, as that is what I optimize my tank conditions for, or do my best to anyways.

Is this a secondary filter? How big is the tank and will you use the FX5 for mech or bio filtration?

Currently running 2x Aquaclear 110/500's and the FX5 on the tank.

Plan to use the FX5 for bio, unless you think the 2x 110's are a better idea..?

I use pot scrubbers in the bottom two and cerramic rings in the top never had any issues. But I just started keeping rays so we will see

In that case i'd go with Eheim mech in the bottom to trap stuff and matrix or bio ceramic rings in the top two. Forget the bioballs cos that would be close to useless in a canister filter and it will take up too much room.

On one of my Ray tanks I have 2 fx5's and both of them all 3 baskets are full of pot scrubbers I lay some filter floss over the top basket.. But these are working great for a heavy stock of rays
