I am pretty sure one of my Jack dempseys got some kind of internal parasite from live blackworms. Should I medicate the whole tank or just remove the one fish and medicate a smaller tank? Can any of my fish get an internal parasite from the sick fish?

Treat the whole tank. Find levamisole hydrochloride, fenbendazole or flubendazole whichever is easiest to reach as all three will cover a wide range of internal parasites better than metronidazole and praziquantel can.

It is possible, of course, for others to be infested with internal parasites especially when they eat a dead infested fish or come in contact with the wastes. Internal parasites tend to reside in detritus. Siphon off the detritus while treating.

Do you think it is an internal parasite? I see no signs of any other parasite. The fish has its mouth open and is breathing hard and will not eat anything. I realized the fish was sick yesterday when it was hiding from the rest and then today its color was pale and its spangles were not glittering in the light. Besides that the fish can swim fine and looks to be very well fed. I got jungle parasite clear and put the fish in its own 20 gallon tank and treated it with that for now. Where can i get those other medications from?

If the fish has the following symptoms (not all will show up), then it may have the suspected internal parasites:
1. White poo (not always accurate)
2. Hollow belly
3. Listless
4. Abnormal coloration
5. Gasping heavily (not always the case)
6. Refusal to eat anything at all
