I was having a hard time finding instructions as to how to make some of my own medicated foods.

I bought some of this:

http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=13940

Doesn't have instructions on the bottle.

At any rate any recommendations on either making a solution to soak pellets in or foods I can prepare for my fish that would help. I know garlic is supposed to do great things for cleaning out parasites if anyone could point me too a DIY med food thread I can't find them in the search engine.

I'll post pics of the affected fish tonight. Thanks. As of last night I started by treating the tank but would like to move to medicating the foods since I know that metro + can be harsh on the fish.

I also heard onions are good for parasites but I don't know if cichlids will eat a food made with onions/garlic/Metronidazole in it.

I had already been treating with the metro plus and it worked well but after reading that article I'm inclined to make my own medicated food with Epsom salt, garlic, peas, etc for future quarantine of fish to flush their systems safely and also to treat stuff that gets past my quarantine setups.

I notice the one draw back with Epsom salt is its best when ingested and I frequently encounter issues with fish not eating so it doesn't help in that instance but I also realized one or two treatments of metro will help enough to get them eating then I can finish the treatment with Epsom salt and spare their organs the metro stress.

Is onion bad or beneficial for food. I know that garlic is both something many fish and cichlids love and also helps in fighting parasites since Garlic repells parasites(as in humans) I was always told that onion has a similar effect with people, would anyone consider onion beneficial or dangerous as an ingredient if I made my own fish food?

HEY ALL!!! I know you thought this thread was dead but I'd figure I'd ask another question and hope for a response this time :P I saw jungle medicated fish food has been pulled from most retailers online and off and was wondering if there is a safety concern. Its a favorite medicated food and I have had it recommended to me many times but its hard to get. I could recreate the mix on my own since the important ingredients are online but I was wondering if you guys see any reason to be concerned???

The idea is to do the jungle: Metronidazole, Praziquantel, and Levimasole... but add epsom salt and garlic to the mix. any thoughts???
