Medicating parasite with food

How effective is this method ? What if I injects a shrimp or smelt with prazipro and target feed directly to the fish ?

I have a fish that is skinny although it eats like CRAZY but can't never gain any weight. I have treat the tank with prazipro and metro but he still not gained any weight.

So either it's something different that prazipro and metro can not kill or I am not doing an effective hob by treating the water only.

I do not think you can judge the amount they take in very accuratly that way. I would not, but lets see what others say.

not sure if it what caused his problem but the shotgun approach is scary when you are treating the unknown.

With predatory fish, I think they would need direct feeding of medicine. With other fish, you can just treat the water & the food will absorb some of the medicine before it gets eaten. I think Catfish & Rays probably gobble it up too fast, plus its mostly protein foods. Have you tried a Garlic product yet? I hear Ken's makes a good one...
