Medication and UV lights ?

Im going to treat my tank with SeaChem ParaGuard in a few hours, my Polypterus have got some parasite worms..

I have an UV light unit in the tank and was wondering if the UV light has any effect on the meds? Or does the light maybe help destroy the parasites ?

Didnt want to treat the tank and know afterwards that my UV light stopped the med from working, or not have it on and find out that it would have been better

i had an uv in my med tank didn't seem to effect the melafix i was using
