meds for sunken belly

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Is this the same Jardini that had a sunken belly 11 months ago? Has it always been that way?

Can you provide the length of the fish, and a fairly precise amount of how much food you feed it every day (or week?) Can you post the water parameters (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, temperature?)

And a picture is pretty important in this case, imo.

ya its the same jardini, after that time it never have that curl up body shape and sunken belly but now it started back again. mybe i'll take a pic tomorrow since I don't wanna open the light and scare him. i'll test the water tomorrow too temperature is set to 80F

It depends on what is causing the sunken belly, but quite often a sunken belly can be the result of some internal parasites and I have had good luck with PraziPro for treating that over the years.

Again though it just depends on what is causing it in the first place.

Hello Richard203, I am a tech support agent from Seachem Laboratories. We typically recommend treating sunken belly using MetroPlex (http://www.seachem.com/Products/product_pages/MetroPlex.html). A sunken belly could be an indication of internal parasites. However, if you decide to use MetroPlex in a medicated food mix, you can find the recipe and the dosing instructions on the provided link. I hope this could you!
