I've got to treat my tank for internal parasites;( Does anyone know if BGK or plecos are particularly sensitive to Levamisole HCl?

BGK's are "scaleless fish" so be sure to read the label to see if there are warnings for such fish. Most/Many medications are not safe for them. I'm not familiar with the one you are considering.

be safe and only use half the dosage...read the box carefully.
i went to my LFS and asked about the meds and gave me one...said it was safe for my knifefishes. its tetra parasite guard. i use half dosage and i feed my gouramis floating pellets and i soak them in the water i disolved the meds in. just a precaution cause 2 of my other fish died from this and 3rd is suffering. good luck and hope your fish gets better

I treated the tank about 3 days ago. Everything went fine, the fish didnt want to eat though. The hardest part for them was the large (80%or so) water change before hand, and the 90% water change after. I used 5 grams of Levamisole HCl for 120g. I was treating for camallus, a small, red, intestinal parasite that is very hard to get out of your setup.
Here's some links with more info....

I lost a pleco and 2 small fish. I've still got 3 silver dollars, BGK, bristlenose pleco, bulldog pleco, some different rainbow fish and a few random tetras....

did the meds recomend changing that much water? if so its a waste of time changing that much water can completly wipe out your tanks benifitial bacteria, i hope you have hardy fish!
Huh? Where did you get this info? Beneficial bacteria do not colonize the water column therefore, water changes are hardly the issue.

Levamisole hydrochloride is fine for all scaleless fish.

The water change was a little harsh on the fish, however 24 hours later everybody was all good. I run an eheim 2229 wet/dry that has been established for 2 years now. I don't really have problems with cycling after large water changes...

I am happy to say that my fish are showing nice colors and acting like healthy fish again. IMO Levacide was a worthwhile treatment...
