Trout Island
Ok...I keep other fish with my rays(not by choice) and had noticed them rubbing on the sand. Then I saw a loach with a couple white spots...but not enough to be ick( would post pics but its just too fast and always hiding. My question really is if I needed to medicate the tank..whats safe for the rays? Oh and if anyone knows why the other fish are rubbing advise would be much appreciated.

Their is in my opinion no such thing as not enough to be ich :) Starts out one or two.. Next thing you know :D Sorry no experience with Ray meds though.. Bump for the answer :)

just crank the heat up to like 86 and add a little salt to the water.

But salt is always hit or miss for rays. How is melafix and pimafix?

DavidW to the rescue! I thought that whatever the other fish got...they might get it too. I've been keeping fish for a while but happy to say I dont come in contact with too many diseases. Well what kinda meds should I stock up on for the rays?

the only meds i can say for sure that are ray safe are melafix primafix and eSha 2000 none of which are any god for white spot

after you have got rid of the white spot try installing a UV they realy help stopping the out brake of parasites

Well I do water changes about everyday if not everyother day. About 10%. I over filtrate by double what it should be. The only problem I can think of is I feed live bloodworms and live nightcrawlers.

I've been just about everywhere and haven't seen blackworms for sale locally. I've been feeding them these 2 items because thats all they seem to like. Is there any suggestions on how to get them to eat anything else? And since we are now on the subject...whats the best diet for my rays? Thanks in advance.

You try giving some MP.....

well balanced diet = happy rays.

MP? What is that?
