Medusa Pleco?

In the coming months I will be setting up my 75G tank, and one of the fish I plan to work around accommodating is a Medusa Pleco. My LFS said from time to time he can get them in, and I told him I'd let him know when I was ready for one. My question is, how rare is this pleco? Also, if anyone has any experience with them and would care to share, that would be cool too.

Never seen one in this part of the world, but then we dont get many unusual plecs

Have a read of this, it's a species of Bristlenose Pleco. Should be no problem to look after in any tank thats suitable for small plecos.

It's not uncommon, but one of the lesser spawned Ancistrus. Just care the same for your average Ancistrus species.

Wow, thanks for the link Ian, I'd been to Planet Catfish before, but I must have either missed that link, or they added new pics, bc some of those are just awesome. Good to hear it's not as rare as I imagined eiteher.

Not quite. They are larger, shier and more carnivorous than most of their genus.
