These two have been a pair for about a year now and finally spawned. Think adding rocks and driftwood helped. It’s been 7 days but haven’t seen any eggs or fry. But the female keeps going in the pot, and they are defending it. Makes me think they have something in there, but can’t see. I haven’t touched that area when doing water changes.

Congrats! There is a strong possibility that eggs are in the pot.

Well done Steve, I know you have been waiting for this.
They are probably wrigglers now on the floor of the cave. If the spawn is successful you will soon see them venture out to feed with the parents. If not, won't be long till they do it again.

Thanks Darren. This is my first time breeding any kind of thorichthys. They guard that pot well, but don’t seem to defend a big area like some other cichlids.

A t. Pasoinis pair is getting ready to spawn at the other end. Like the meeki, these two have been a pair, but just haven’t spawned yet.
