Meet Pete,my PetSmart rescue!

I stopped in to pick up a bag of pellets and as I was looking around I came across this guy in a bucket of cold water.I asked one employee what their plans for the fish were and she said that it was dead and that someone would dispose of it shortly..Well, the fish clearly was not dead but it was in rough shape as it languished in the small space of the bucket,it was cramped but it managed to lay on it's side on the bottom.I managed to find another employee and asked her about the fish and she informed me that it had been brought in yesterday by someone who no longer wanted it.She went on to tell me that I could have the fish if I wanted it..After seeing how the fish was being treated,and,since I do have space for it,I couldn't just leave it there so for now,somewhat, I am back in the Oscar game.

Yeah,he looked fine...until we got home and I noticed a slight cloudiness in both eyes and some fin rot.

Very nice of you to take it home! While in Petsmart a while back, they asked me if I would adopt a jewel cichlid that was perfectly healthy other than he had a genetic defect and he has a teeny tiny tail. He swims okay and they said he had been there 5 months and no one had bought him. Well I brought him home. He is funny swimming because he is the shape of a football, but he fit right in with my other two jewels.
