Who has got these? I'm thinking of making them the main fish for my set up.

it is a 10 ft by 3ft by 3ft.

What is their growth rate and when can they be expected to reach full size ? Are they big eaters for their size?
And anything else useful to know before I commit to a couple.
thanks
Alison

They are great fish...I have two myself.

You won'd see them much if you have a lot of hide spots...I barely ever see a full body shot of mine. The growth rate is fairly slow when compared to more common monster cats like the Pims. My largest is a little over a foot and he's a few years old. My longibarbis out grew him in less than a year from 4" to 16".

As far as diet, they will eat pretty much anything and they will definitely have a belly when they are done. Again, not "pim proportions", but they will indeed fatten up. Mine are good for a few pieces of shrimp and a small handfull of pellet between the two of them.

Great tank by the way. They will definitely help with any snail problems that may arise with all of the plants.
