Megalodoras after 1 year

In his first year he's gone from 3inches to about 12".he's starting to catch up to the pike.is this a good growth rate?he gets massivore,North fin carnivore and krill occasionally...good diet?any specific catfish foods that would be better to feed him? having issues uploading a pic

Growth rates seem to vary seemingly on how comfortable the irwini is which will dictate how much they'll eat and their activity level. Due to the various set ups people have I can't say I've seen any common growth rate except slow due to most tanks being busy, so id say your good. As far as foods I'd say your doing good with varying the pellets could ad frozen foods as well, freeze dried food if he'll take it too.

moe214 right. My Irwini have growth rate of 1" a month. Eat a lot but mostly on pellets & blood worms. On the other hand, my raphael cats haven't grown since several months ago. Stuck at 2.5". They refuse to grow.

IME this is one the better side of good growth. That is excellent growth. Chances are the rate will now decelerate a lot. It will take it a few years now to gain another foot if nothing changes.

Large size irwini are indiscriminate vacuum cleaners. Again, IME. YMMV - your mileage may vary as they say.
