In search of Leiarius
Also known as megaladoras irwini and giant rapheal catfish, iam wondering how fast is its growth rate and a good starter tank for one.
THEY DO END UP IN THE 24-36IN RANGE

Well I have two that are about 3-4" Iv had them for about a month or so they don’t move much eat everything that I drop in, their in a 65 tall growing so I can put them in the 405. Iv read that they grow decently till about 12" and then slow way down mine haven’t seemed to have grown any yet though.

You're not likely to see huge ones, unlike Pseudodoras niger.

yea raphael catfish are very slow growing so Im not exactly sure about the growth rate of this fish as I've never had one

I haven't owned one either, so I'm going to armchair this one. I did a lot of info hunting about these guys and read that, as stated above, they slow down after they reach between 8 to 12 inches. If fed sparingly, with their slow metabolism they could probably take 5 to 10 years to reach monster status. I hope someone with actual experience can step in here.

Hey, I have a 125g now. I could do one, couldn't I?! Yay!
