Woah that's big! How long did it take for him to get to that size? Also aren't koi cold water fish? Im considering getting them as dithers.

Didn't keep track on growth rate of tarpon but they eat everything. As for the Koi, I keep temp 80 degrees. The koi's runs the tank. When the armatus take live sunnies, the large koi actually doesn't seem please and pushes the armatus all over the tank. When it feeds on frozen fish, koi's try to snatch it from armatus mouth.
How many koi do you have with the army? My tarpon is still recovering from the armatus attack same under the pectoral fin. Did you reintroduce the tarpon or how do they now coexist?

Got 4 koi's, they sometimes swim "against"(touching) the armatus and mirror the movements. It's weird like mating ritual.
Never took out tarpon, just treated entire tank. No more aggression, guess he realizes it was a waste of time or the fact that I'm feeding him larger fish. i.e. sardine,yellow croaker,gourami instead of the smaller smelt which is no longer eaten. What I need is a mfg to make large horse size food sticks to stuff into fish instead of tediously stuffing current size sticks into the larger fish.
