got my eye on a irwini, about 8" , how are they with pleco's as tank mates? ive a golden nug at 5-6", a blue panaque at 3-3.5".....are they likely to be eaten or what?

Definitely fine....they are not predatory in the slightest....a true garbage eater of a fish....

I only see mine when I do a water change. It stays buried in the top of a big piece of driftwood and only slides down into visibility when I drain the tank. The sucker has virtually tripled in size and I never see it eat...

Plecos are armored spiky warriors in the fish world. They are not an easy meal even for serious predators. Your irwini would not touch them... even when it hits 2'-2.5' length. Irwinis are not predators but scavengers.

Its now in my 150 with 5 x dats and said pleco's.....will get some pics up when i get chance

cheers for the info:)
