Melafix and arowana warning

My 15 inch silver arowana died after I added the recommended full dose of melafix.

What was wrong with the Arowana that you needed ad melafix in the first place?

I have used Melafix with silvers and never had a problem. What was wrong with the silver?

melifix should not hurt your fish, I am not sure i would attribute it to that. the stuff cures nothing but is a good preventative.

large concentrated jar or a reg, I keep half gallon size on hand for both melifix and pimifix, but the stuff is none toxic, it should not have been the problem.

just to be clear, neither cures anything, i use when my fish wound themselves, its like neosporen, great for a cut, but once cut is infected it wont do jack. need real meds for that.

Really?! did you use the full dose?

Full dosage. I also agree that it's more like Neosporin. It really shouldn't impact the fish at all even if slightly overdosed.
