i was wondering if any advice can be given here, i want to add a large softshell to my fish tank, i have kept softshell turtles successfully with fish in the past, but my large tank is being treated with melafix for the fish, is it safe for turtles?????

any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

I know amphibians in general don't respond well to amounts of melafix you would give to fish, and turtles are not the most medically resistant reptiles. So I doubt it. By the way, softshells will make a buffet out of your fish tank, so that alone is a point to take into consideration.

I have used it with painted turtles in the past, and it worked well and more pertinatley was well tolerated. Softies, maybe? I used it straight and directly applied it to the fungus. Then returned them to their (cleaned) tank, so they weren't exactly swimming in it.
