I had some fish in my semi-aggressive tank that had some minor injuries from a tank mate. I treated the tank (according to the directions) with Melafix. The next day all three of my plecos had turned completely white and were dead. I have learned to use as little chemical as I can in any of my tanks do to several other mishaps. :screwy:

How many ml did you use and how many gallons is your tank? Air pumps along with filter? Carbon still in filter?

Sounds like the classic overdosing. I have so many fancy plecos and have used melafix with no adverse reactions until I mixed up pimafix/melafix dosing and overdosed, I sure had to do tank change so fast in that tank. Never again.

That might have happened is overdosing another cause could have been no oxygenation, they're bad to the fish without current/o2 I've noticed that.

I have also had fatalities with mela fix so no longer use it or would use very little.
