on the directions for melafix it says one teaspoon per ten gallons daily for seven days then do a water change does this seam like to much I would think that the concentration would be way too high after a couple days and be way too expensive on a large tank

I like the stuff I have never had a problem with it and have followed the manufactures guide lines (after all they should know best;) ) It is derived from the oil of the Tea Tree so a natural product I do a 25% water change at the end of the treatment and as I say have never had a problem with it.

ok thanks im just always skeptical about using meds but i thought i would give melefix a try because it looks like a good alternative

pm ewurm he found it in bulk cheap.. same stuff think its thru a pond supplier..

Usually I only follow the instructions exactly when I have a very very injured fish.
Otherwise, I use the first initial dosage, but I dont keep adding it every day.
My fish still heal quickly, but i'm not having to load the tank up with it so much.
I dont think it's necessary unless you have a VERY injured fish.

Oh, and Malefix isnt really a Medication. I mean, i suppose you could classify it as meds, but really its Tea Tree oil. And its hard to overdose it.
Much different than Maracyn or those type meds. Malefix is more natural.

yea i realize melefix isn't really a med and might fall into the same category as using salt but I also herd that tea tree oil is also a sovent
