I know Melafix is supposed to help fins and tails heal and also bacteria, but I have used it about 3 times in the past few years on ick. I just add the recommended dose then on day 2 I do a 20% waterchange and dose again. Day 3 its gone. Any ideas or thoughts on this?

Justin, is it really working if youve done it several times, J/K buddy. I have played with meds like that too, Melafix is IMO pretty gentle compared to some "Big-guns" meds I have used at home and with work, so playing with dosages with meds like that is usually pretty safe (within reason), and sometimes beneficial as you may find better regimens to treat your fsh with.

I knew someone would ask that. Since I have done it more than once maybe it doesn't really work, right. Well, it was on different fish in different tanks within a few years. None of the fish have been treated repeatedly. I didn't add salt or raise the temp either.
