Melafix w/ fry

I have a pair of Caquetaia kraussii with 3.5 week old fry. The male cut his mouth pretty good and I would like to take care of it without a hospital tank. Im thinking about a half dose of melafix to the breeding tank. Someome suggested putting a little iodine on it but also said that if the iodine touched the gills or mouth the fish would die.
To make a long ? short will a half dose of melafix harm the fry?

Never tried melafix with fry but you can swab the cuts of the male with hydrogen peroxide on a q-tip if you net it out first. It would be best to just wait, in clean water most cuts heal on their own.

i have used melafix with pimafix at full dose with small red devil fry several times without any sign of trouble
