i have a gold Severum and when i got it from the LFS it had what looked like chunks taken out of his nose ( i guess it would be called) and i thought they would kind of fill in if i kept the water good and kept him healthy but it doesnt seem to getting any better. it has been about 1.5 months. the color has improved on him alot but what i was wondering is if this part will even grow back if so is there any advice? i have heard that melafix works good on things like this i tried it a while ago and it seemed to make my water cloudy is that normal?

i tried getting a picture but for some reason he freaked when i brought the camera to the tank ill try again tonight when its a little darker. the best way i can discribe it is little craters but just on his nose part like i said ill try and get a picture tonight.
melafix is supposed to cure these open wounds. i dosed my tank just now cause this one fish i got yesterday had some cut on it.
let's just say after 20 minutes everything in the tank looked like they were about to die. they were gasping, scratching on the gravel, trying to jump outta the water. it was the most insane thing i've ever seen my fish do when applying medication - it was like they were dosed with acid or something.
i couldn't take it anymore and did an emergency 66% water change. everything seems to have calmed down a bit, but man... if my fish die because of this i'm gonna be really mad.
