is it safe to add melafix with clown loaches , my super red sev has a lil eye cloud and this is the only non monster tank i have , my oscars in my qt tank

No, it's not safe for all fish. It's definitely not safe for labyrinth fish, and I don't recommend using it on any scaleless fish. I actually don't recommend it at all, I think it's a garbage product.

Your cloudy eye problem is likely a water quality issue, I would start doing more frequent water changes and just try to keep it as clean as possible, maybe with a pinch of salt.

If you really want to use melafix, I'd recommend a bath daily. Just fill an appropriate sized plastic bag with water, add a decent dose of melafix, and put the fish in for a few minutes, then return to the tank. But I'd recommend a salt or methylene blue bath before melafix.

thanks for the advice though the eye problem was caused by a fight between sevs , water is perfect . I knew better than it being safe for all fish so i half dosed it

:iagree: No Melafix.

Well according to the company that makes it they say its safe for all fresh and marine fish. I've used it several times and it's always worked for me.

I swear by melfix.. the problem is the doseing on the bottle is wrong for practical application.. and you did right by useing a 1/2 dose. unfortunately the product works.. very good. almost too good. just like food tubs tell you to feed your fish 3 times a day... less is more with this product. I've used this product to treat my spiney eels at home, loaches at work, and pufferfish both fresh and SW.

But I agree w/ maintaining water quality, imo thats the best thing you can do to heal the issue.
