My make krib has a little weird protrusion on his head that has some clear thing protruding. It isn't ich. I don't want to loose him if it does get worse. Can i use melafix or something else too heal him and not hurt the babies, I also dont want too seperate him and disturb his daddy duties if I don't have too. Obviously I will if it saves him.

+1 on the daily water changes.

If you want more help than that you'll need to answer a few questions first... Did you noticed any weird behavior before/around the time he got sick?
What size tank is he in?
How long has it been set up?
Who are his tankmates?
What are the water parameters?
What is your regular water change schedule?
Did you add anything new to his tank - plants, rocks, ornaments etc?
Answering these will help others help you.
Read this, memorize it, and then post: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/fish-health-diagnostics-read-before-posting.210102/ :)

Post Script: his baby is adorable! :D

No he acts the same.

They are all in a 15g for now.

Tank has been set up for four months

Water is regular, slightly acidic, 79 temp, I suck out waste every other day (babyfish are sooo messy), no nitrite/ates, ammonia is stable.

All original decor, I am terrified of disturbing them and causing them to eat them or killing the babies. So besides food and small cleanups I leave them be. They are up in my room so no one is constantly walking by them.

If you're getting ammonia readings with no nitrAte then your tank isn't cycled properly. What is your ammonia reading? A fully cycled tank should have 0ppm ammonia and 0ppm nitrite, if you're getting a reading for either of these then your tank is not cycled. When you say the ammonia is "stable" what do you mean? How do you know its stable? How often do you test your tank?

Ammonia at any level is a BAD thing. :)

Also, when you do your water changes how much do you change and how often? How often is the filter cleaned out and how do you clean it? :)

I just said that I don't have any. I clean gravel twice a week and so that means that probably 25% at a whack. I check my equipment everyday and go accordingly
