i alrede have a matured Melanochromis auratus so i got a smaller auratus at petsmart. hopefully its a female, but if it either a male or female, will i turn more aggressive towards the other mbunas?

Caves, schmaves.... An auratus is a determined fish.

You may want to pick up some more just so you can spread out the aggression.

i bought 1 male and what i thought were 2 females (they were about the same size as the male) and then one of the females turned into a male. the original male seems to have disapeared lately (probably got killed in the night by the cobalt blue which absolutely hated him, and is second in the tank hirachy), and the new male seems not to be very agressive, no where near as agressive as the old male. he doesn't appear to harrass the female, who is out of the rocks all of the time since the old male disapeared. and ive noticed some 1/4 inch long juvinile auratus' (aurati?) around the tank too. so it really depends on the individual fish.
