So I just noticed that the heat lamps are melting a bit of the plastic around the edges of my Savannah monitors tank. Is the smell/fume it's giving off harmful to the lizard? Will it stop after it melts down a bit? It seems like it smells more in the room rather than his tank but I don't know.

yes, it can be toxic for both you and your monitor. try moving the lamp away from the edges a bit or get a smaller lamp.
