Hey guys unfortunatly my dabble in my frist lungfish isnt of to a good start. i have what i think ive id as a spotted african lung. hes gray with stocky body wide and blacks spots hes about 15". the store was unfortunatly keeping this guy in the same tank as two oscars breeding flowerhorn and midevils. he has nips all along his back and tail fin. he also has his little legs nipped to about 1" long stumps. i dont know how exactly active these guy are normally but hes very still all the time. not much of a mover. my question is will he recover from his injuries? will anything grow back? i feel bad for his little fins. will he be ok?

Oh thanks. i cant tell if hes eating if he has it hasnt been infront of me. they showed me he ate shrimp pellets and wafer at the store but he would barely move here let alone make a move for food. do they normally just lay there like a lump?

Ya, they're pretty much like pet logs most of them time. Got any pictures of this lungfish by the way?

nah not yet. i just got my camera today actually but i dont have any of those fancy phones you all have i cant post pics from this old thing lol and i dont have a computer :(

My lungfish was in the same condition though smaller when i got him about 6 yrs ago and you would never know it now. My son had him in a tank with oscars and he would slowly rise to the top and sink to the bottom and just lay there. Now that he has a tank to himself he comes up anytime someone is near his tank and waits for food and he is more than 2 ft long. Good Luck

I currently house my lung with a wolf fish. His arm was unfortuneatly bitten off and now he has two legs coming out of where there should only be one leg. He healed the limb very fast too
