A couple of weeks ago, i had moved my 4 Crenicichla menezesi into a 125 that also housed a pair of Cryptoheros cutteri, a female Amphilophus nourissati, a Petenia splendida (red form), a group of 4 rainbowfish, and a gibbiceps pleco. Yesterday, I noticed that 2 of the 4 menezesi were getting beaten pretty badly, as was the female nourissati...so i moved them out. The female was displaying a nice red belly and tube:
(the flash washes out lots of the red belly...also, the tank is 6' off the ground, so I'm on a ladder, not much ability to get a good angle to prevent the flash from being an issue...)
Today, I found this:
World's worst pic, but the best I could do. The spawning site is only visible from the end of the tank, which (believe it or not) I never clean...so lots of water spots on the glass. As a result, the auto-focus has a hard time. Also, the flash...I can't get a good angle to keep the flash from being an issue and ALSO get the eggs in the shot. This is the best of about 12 shots.
Now I'll have to decide where to move the other fish, since I MUST keep these fry alive!
