I have the opportunity to buy a menezese from a fellow mfk:er, I´ve never kept pikes before and don´t know so much about their behaviour. I know that they need strong currents and anything smaller then half their size are food. How is the aggression for menezeze? If I buy it I will make room for it in 63g. Is it good with tankmates such other sa in same sise?

Pike cichlids do not need or like strong currents, with the exception of some dwarf species (such as Cr. compressiceps) that live in fast-flowing rapids.

Cr. menezesi is one of the smaller-growing and less aggressive Saxatilis-group pikes. They max out at about 8 or 9 inches. Females are generally smaller than males. And yes they will co-exist peacefully with large tankmates in an appropriately-sized tank, as long as the other fish are not elongated. Pikes channel most of their aggression towards conspecifics, other pikes, and other fish that look like pikes.

thanks for your help!

I got one from fishfarm. I currently have it in a 75 with a similar sized carpintis (both are around 2-3 inches). I have read they are relatively peaceful, so I am considering putting it in with my male green terror once it gets a bit larger.
