OK, I've been using http://www.uvguide.co.uk/mercuryvapourlamps.htm as a guide to which lamp I should choose for my sunlight-loving herps but I'd like to hear some more references and sources in their effectiveness and the duration of the UV life in these bulbs. Considering the cost of each bulb, I want to make sure I'm spending the money and getting my worth.
Do you use these bulbs?
How long do they usually last for you?
Will it continuously produce UV rays up until the bulb burns out?
Has your herps develop 100% with these bulbs? Should I still use my calcium with D3 or simply regular calcium supplement without the D3?
I currently have the T-Rex Active UV 100w Flood Lamp. I've had it and been using it reguarly for the last 2 months and I already ordered another just in case the UV producing properties have decreased since it's first use... is this caution warranted?
I think this would be a good discussion for those who has been perptually baffled by the use of UV in rearing herps and purchasing the right lamp that will do the job.
Thanks.
