Merky water

I have a 20 gallon fresh water fish tank with 4 baby red belly piranhas. Its been set up for about 2 weeks and about a week ago I purchased 2 presoaked pieces of wood with live plants growing on them. A day ago my tank started becoming very merky and cloudy,what could this be from? the plants maybe?

Bacteria bloom, get a alot bigger tank.

is this the only solution? can the bacteria bloom hurt the piranha?

If the wood hadnt been presoaked i would say that its whats causing it and to run extra carbon. How big are the piranha?

Well, I suspect that the tank size is to small for that many big fish. If it is a bacteria bloom it will eventually go away once the filter catches up. You should check you Water levels and make sure they are safe.
