anyone know why oscar's are such messy eaters? mine always go straight for the food, but end up pushing out most of the food out there gills. then they move on to the next stick, and so on...sometimes my RTGG does this too, anyone know why?

They filter out the crap they don't need is my understanding. They are pigs though. I love my guy.

prob cause there greedy impatient bastards who try n hog all the food and pangong it shouldnt be a prob

They are pigs. Can red oscars co-exist w/ stingray, aro or gars?

GUPPY, told me that oscars attck long-slener fish such as gars.

Ive found the pellets are the easiest way to feed oscar without mess. The other fish in his tank dont seem to mind eating flakes that have been thru his giils though

ya they are messy fish but i love mine, i have 2, an albino and tiger both about 12" in my 125 with a jardini aro, florida gar and motoro ray and i have a magnum 350 and an overflow wet/dry. i do about a 50% waterchange once a week and it keeps the water crystal clear and super healthy......i also feed them frozen foods otherwise they just mess the water up with flakes or sticks. fun fish tho
