I was thinking of getting a metal tubular stand and putting a 75gal on top and a 65gal long on the bottom but I am getting mixed advise on doing this.

This is from an email from Perfecto (which is the brand of the 75gal):

"If it is a Perfecto Metal stand, it is not rated to handle a second tank. Our 65 gallon tank is 36x18x24. You can custom order a 75 cut down if you want a second tank. You would need to check with a local retailer for pricing and availablity."

Hamilton Manufacturing makes them for Big Al's and I have emailed them asking about it, awaiting their response. Hopefully theirs are built heavier and I can pick one up directly from them as their facitility is only a few miles from me....

Anyone have experience on running two tanks on one stand? What brand stand are you using? ETC....

Burt :)

I am against metal stands on anything but concrete floors, they point-load all the weight.

This will be in my basement so its on concrete. I really have no where upstairs to put a larger tank since I am in a condo and every load bearing wall is mostly filled with a large window.
