Metal Stands, strong enough for 2 tanks?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've used a bunch of them... the double 75 gal, double 55 gal and double 29 gal versions.... all have held two tanks without a problem...

That is so strange I was wondering the same thing less than an hour ago...

Thanks! Makes me feel much better....

I plan on doing a 75 with the 40gallon breeder below it..75 will be a heavily planted tank and the 40 will be used to house feeder fish/ghost shrimp/crawfish.

Now if I can only figure out where to hide the canister for the 75

Since the 40 breeder is a 3' long tank... you will have 12" of open space next to it / below the 75...

If you ever make it over towards Charlotte I have some 48" x 18" @ 13" tall tanks in storage. I'd be willing to part with one and it would fit perfectly on the bottom rack ;)

I have one like the deluxe stand on that website, with the fancy wrought iron. I hate it. Im sure its strong enough, but i never feel safe with it. I always feel like if my cat were to jump on top of it the whole thing would come crashing down. Im debating what to do when I reset my tank up this time, I guess ill use it , because to make a cinder block stand the same hieght would add another 200 lbs....

Have the double angle for 75g setups. It's safe. My qualm. It's butt ugly. And hard to get any decent size fish into the bottom setup, or even get your arm into the bottom setup. Good thing I only paid $20.00 for mine.

In about 10 minutes I'll be setting up a double metal stand with two 30 gallon tanks on it. I bought 3" long eyebolts that I'm going to mount into studs in the wall & I'm wiring the stand to the eyebolts- that thing's going NOWHERE. I won't have to worry about it tipping at all.

And these stands are butt ugly, but I can now fit two thirty gallons AND two ten gallons in less space than I used to fit two 20s... So, I won't complain about it!
