Hey all,

well i have a 55gal tank in my spare room, on an old computer desk, but we need to chuck the desk to make room for my mums junk :P
I've also been thinking about getting another 55gal tank.. so i was considering buying a metal stand that can hold up to 3 tanks stacked on top of each other.. is this feasable or am i dreaming? i know we have metal stacked stand at my LFS but i think we had them custom built.. would it be the same scenario for me? bust out the welder and buy some good strong alloy? (i cant weld, so please say there's another way!)
please give me some feedback!

cheers

Pete

it is possible you can get a local metal fabricator to make it for you if you give them the size you want.
i did it too house some tanks in the fish house i had i got the bloke to use heavy duty angle iron

If at all possible, have the thing made out of Aluminum, much lighter and just as strong... Oh and I notice that you used gallons as a measurement, I find that odd since you're across the pond....Or has the aquarium trade been so Americanized, that even you blokes use gallons as a unti of measure?

we have to cater for older and younger people so most of the older people prefer gallons and younger litres :D
i personally am better and guaging the size of a tank (at least for myself) in litres but i always use gallons on forums because alot of merkins still use it.
Im going into uni tomorrow i shall see what kind of fabrication facilities we have :D never ventured to the metal workshop!
