The blue stain usually goes away after a while.
As a chemist, I worked with it daily, and we always wore gloves when doing so.
It is known as a carcinogen, and prolonged daily exposure can be problematic depending on ones sensitivity.

Hi guys I'm just new to fish keeping, it says in the bottle 1 teaspoon for every 10 gallon and I have a 55 gallon I put 5 teaspoons of methylene blue and my water is really dark blue is it dangerous? Thank you very much!
Only issue killing beneficial bio bacteria and staining objects in the aquarium such as silicone, airlines etc.
