I thought I would share the bond between these two beautiful fish. I tried to let the female hold and release naturally but after a month, I had to strip her yesterday as she was getting pretty weak. She let loose of about 37 fry. I fed her, released the fry into the rocks and she's tending to them nicely. Also included is some pics of the father in the main tank awaiting the return of his babe. Enjoy!

If the father is the albino fish I would argue that he is not M. greshakei, or at least not pure. He looks more like albino M. zebra which look very similar, except they do not have the characteristic red-top of M. greshakei.
He should look like this

He's not an albino. Your picture is definitly M. Greshaki albino. I also have that fish in the same tank.

The zebra is albino, otherwise he'd have some amount of blue and darker blue barring.
Either way, new fry are always exciting. You keeping them all?

After doing some checking you are right. What I thought was a male greshakei is most likely a hybrid. I will most likely keep the fry and stop breeding them as I want to respect the hobby of breeding and delivering a pure line. BTW...that's how I ended up with non pure fish. These were labled as M. Greshakei at two different LFS. Here's what I found...that I don't have. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=794

Thanks for your input and expertise! I appreciate it.

Can someone please direct to breeding instructions or tips for these fish?

I have the same combo and want them to breed!

Also, How do I know if I have a female, looks much like your female in color...

Don't worry, if there is a male and female you will know it by the male displaying for her... it depends on the size of them and the tank and the tank mates wether or not they will breed, if they are in at least a 75 and male is over over 4 in female at least 3 in and they have the right ph and temp they will breed like rabbits trust me I got over 100 red zebra babies, I know it's not the same species but close enough, they breed the same as them... Do you have a smaller tank to put the fry when and if they start breeding?
