Hey guys I just got some sick fish and was going to make metro food for them. My question is will mixing Epsom salt into the food compromise the effectiveness of the metro??? I'm not entirely sure what they have only that it seems to effect their lower digestive systems and be causing bloat and lethargic behavior. I know the salt is harmless to the fish, and would like to do a broad spectrum treatment if possible by combining the metro and Epsom salt.

thanks in advance for any input you can give me.

FYI they are in a seasoned tank with no sign of water quality issues as I tested the water. The fish in question are some fucifer, bloops, and horei.

I do not think that epsom in the belly, with food, nd antibiotic in the water are a problem. But would wait for more opinions.

Used the mix for some med food to great effect. Thanks for your input hope this helps everyone.

Food was two cups volume of mixed sea food, peas, one clove of garlic and a small amount of jello w/ one tablespoon of metro, one of epsom salt. Peas are a dioretic, garlic hates on parasites of the POORS or basically external parasites, Epsom salt contains magnesium and that stuff is lethal to intestinal parasites, metro will help treat all of the above and bacterial infections.

RD has a great thread here on mfk about using epsom salts. mfk;s search button is easy to use! haha not
