I have 2 motoros that are absolute pigs and eat like there's no tomorrow. I've had one of them for a year and the other one for at least 3 months. I think at least one of them has internal parasites (clear-ish feces), and obviously I want to get rid of them.

I see metronidazole (flagyl) being recommended all over this forum, but can't seem to find any info on dosing. I'm thinking I will dose the water because I can't be certain who eats what and such. How much to dose?

I do use it that medication for flower horn but never use it on my ray either. Rather then use that medication in water I think its best that you put that medication in the food and try to get Focus from seachem, mix small dose first and feed them. Ray is scaleless fish so dose in the water need to be less then scale fish.

If your rays had a parasite that was affecting them so much then they wouldn't be eating at all. It ain't broke so don;t fix it.

Hi i would suggest to use Tremazol(Raysafe) from Sera if its worms that causes the problems! Try to catch some fresh pooed out poo and get this probe under a mikroskope for analysis, thats the best way to find out 100%. Also coly from Preis is raysafe also against gill and intestal worms. Success.

i have dosed my flower rays with pure pharmaceutical grade metronidazole at the rats of 1/4 tsp per 40 gallons with no ill effects whatsoever! i have even accidentally measured up to 1 full tsp per 85 gallons and they didnt even flinch. metro is VERY safe. pick up some metro + by ARG. its sold under aquarium solutions. its very safe and has the dosing instruction on the label as well as a polymer that binds it to the intestinal wall. just maker sure during dosing that you change at least 50% of water everyday!

if you must... dose per intructions on bottle...
