Metynnis Lippincottianus question

After a quick google search, I am finding conflicting info on their natural habitat. Are spotted silver dollars capable of living with a strong current in the tank?

There are different variants of spotted SDs one of them being Lippincotti. But as for as currents, I have always had strong currents in my setups and never had any issues with multple species of SDs including Lippincotti.

Thanks. Thinking of adding a significant amount of current for my clown loaches, but figured I better check to see if the SD could handle it first.
