I need info on/and photos of Metnnis sp Araguaia silver dollars A.S.A.P.!
how big do they get, a local guy has 6 of them that are a little bit bigger then silver dollar size for $50.00 is that a good deal?

or can any of you Id it. is this metnnis sp araguaia the only photos he had of the fish.

I'll still leave this up he replyed and helped me out here is what he said.

These are definitely Metynnis sp Araguaia.

The fish you looked at on amazon exotic's website is M. schomburki from Araguaia-which is a different species. These are undescribed. If you have the Baensch/Mergus atlas Volume 6-these fish are in that book listed as sp. Araguaia. Its the one that is only printed in German. Since you are big into silver dollar types-you should invest in that book....it has about 25 Metynnis and Myleus spp in that book-most of which I've never seen nor heard of. The photos alone are worth it. It's very difficult to find-I just sold my copy on Ebay, but I've seen it on Ebay from others in the past.
