MFK in the Philippines?

I know I've seen a few Filipinos on MFK in the past and could use some of your help. I will be retiring to the Philippines in the next 10-13 years. Probably near one of three cities Ca***an De Oro, Tigbilaran, or Cebu. I am most familiar with Ca***an De Oro. I know that I saw a pet shop in Limketkai Mall.

What can I expect when I resume fish keeping in The Philippines?
Are aquariums readily available?
Are big tanks available?
What are the current prices like?
What kinds of fish are readily available? Cichlids? Catfish? Koi?

Any comments or experiences would be welcome.

Major cities have a fair amount of fish stores and a decent selection of fish and tanks.

Supplies? Not much except basic foods, some live foods, and weird Chinese made filters and crapola . I would ship everything over EXCEPT the tank and stand. Even if you need everything to run on 120v you are better off as you can buy a good transformer cheap here. I would also ship over some battery/120v air pumps when the inevitable power failure occurs. Unless your fish room/place where your tank is going to be is heavily airconditioned, there is no need for heaters!

What can I expect when I resume fish keeping in The Philippines? -more variety of fishes, even exotics and rare ones if you are ready to burn cash, i know a couple of people who'd give u what u want if u have the means of doing so.

Are aquariums readily available? - yes, even customized ones.

Are big tanks available?- customized glass tanks as big as a glass can sustain the pressure if you want to.

What are the current prices like? - not cheap, depends on the fish and season.

What kinds of fish are readily available? Cichlids? Catfish? Koi?- cichlids and koi are readily available, most rare catfish are on special order.
