This is a competition to determine who on MFK has managed to get the BEST Craigslist deal on a fish tank in 2013!

The winner will receive an Achievement Medal (
attachment.php
)to go under the awards sections by their name in every post. This is mainly a contest for fun and bragging rights!

To enter, simply post a screen shot of the craigslist ad for your tank and a picture of the tank in question in your possession. The winner will be the person who has the best price to gallon ratio. This will be determined by dividing the gallons by the price. For example, a 300 gallon tank for $550 would be 300/550=0.54. A 210 for $375 would be 210/375=0.56, a slight advantage which is enough to place it ahead. The price used to calculate this ratio is the price that is listed in the ad, no exceptions. Entries will be accepted until December 31st. Tanks must be at least 180 gallons.

This is a rough attempt at trying something new. Let's see how it goes. :)

Damn it im a year too late for my 225 for 200 bucks

Wouldn't this be hard to do an "of the year" on since a lot of people take down the craigslist ads once they sell it. Also would tanks listed as cracked or blown out count, as they would inherently be much cheaper?

Awesome Idea, but definitely should adjust the grading system to account for Bow-front tanks and other custom additions

Your tank is way lower than the 180 gallon minimum and it doesn't sound like a very good deal anyhow.

Just got a 150, with stand, canopy and sump filter for $250. Doesn't meet the 180 gallon rule, but still a good deal. Seller deleted craigslist ad the minute I bought it.
