Okay guys, I have a 150g, moderately planted for now, still working on getting it heavily planted. Dimensions are L-60in x W-32in x 19x D-18. Water surface to substrate = about 15 inches give or take across the tank.

I do have pressurized c02, also dosing dry ferts and root tabs because of my PFS, converted my tank from an earlier setup and didn't want to replace the sand.

I Have 8 T8 bulbs over the tank right now, it was a quick means of temp lighting for me. Its very cluttered looking over the tank.

The tank is open top and I do love that look, I've tossed the idea of going t5, or even diy led. But to me, 2 or 3 MH bulbs would be the most aesthetically pleasing to me suspended from either the ceiling or some custom emt brackets.

To my real question, Should I go with two 150W metal halides or three 70watts? Ill have more wattage with two, but more lumens with 3 70's.

The two would give me somewhere around 25-30k lumens, while the three would give me in the range of 35-40k lumens.

I am pretty sure Im sticking to going MH, just not sure on what will give me the best coverage/growth.
Any opions or suggestions are welcome.
