I have 2 400 watt halides on my tank. Tank is 4 feet tall. is there an led for this application? Done some research, not too interestred in spending more than 400 to 500 bucks.

Thats a pretty deep tank, not sure much will have good par at that depth, maybe a custom one. What are the other dimensions?

96LX48TX27D. i also thought about t-5 lighting. homedepot has ones. just not sure i am saving power wth t 5

I use one kessil a150w for a 57 rimless tank. They are pretty powerful at 32w for one led, and its comparable par to a 150w mh hence the name. Id say you would need atleast 3 to go the length but not sure even those would have great light on the substrate. Where in ga are you? I have one if u want to test and are near savannah

i know i cant seem to find anything either. I am on the north side. i want to grow some swords and stuff.

Led light with a good options. Key is getting the right optics on the led light. You can get an led that will spread the light out over a really wide area or you can get an led that will shoot the light down deep into a tank. Yes you will still need a high power setup but when you compare the cost of the 400 watt mh to the low wattage power usage of the leds you can spend a little more and start saving tons of money over a couple years which the leds will last without an issue.
