I have a 10 gallon with 3 pregnant females and 2 that just had litters. I also got a mouse cage with 4 females that came with a cage and 2 females that I think are early in there pregnancy and a male. The 4 females didn't like the 2 females and male I put with them and they attacked them, one females foot was bleeding for a little. will they always be like this or will it take time for them too get used to each other? Also my friend breeds mice for his snakes to and he told me that the mice will eat there litters if they don't get there own space, but it looks like all the females are helping out with the pinkies. Will the litters be fine with other females and litters?

If the pinks were born b4 introducing new animals the chances are rather high they will be killed.the aggression will continue till they set up a new hierarchy ,keep an eye on them but if it gets bad seperate.

I've bred mice for years, and haven't added any new blood in a while. Hm, time to do that.

If you need to mix mice, it is best to do it without babies present; you run the risk of losing any or all of the litter(s) otherwise. Best bet is to clean the cage before putting all the mice in at the same time, with plenty of hiding places and food. Note that pregnant females might miscarry if new males are too *******ish to them.

I lose mice from time to time, but I found that keeping 1-2 males in with 4-5 females is a good ratio. A 20 long is a lot better than a 10 gallon, gives the mice room for a few wheels or Kleenex boxes. Trust me, I'd much rather have a fishroom than the spare bedroom being used for mice breeding, but I'd also rather have living healthy mice than dying or stressed ones. Happy fat mice make lots of babies.
