Anyone ever had experience with these?

Ive heard they are hard to keep, and also heard that they are easy...

And i plan on getting a bunch, and using it to cover the bottom of my 55. So i was wondering if this is a good plant, cause its the only "carpet" style plant i have access to right now without having to order online.

Also, anyone know how fast they grow?

Thanks

i personally havent but i think i saw some in wyldflya's tanks so he should tell ya.

Hello there.

Great plant grows fast, takes up lots of nutrients, but does need mid-high lighting, and to keep it short, it needs to be under very intense lights. I use the excess growth for feeding snails. My lighting isn't strong enough to keep it short, and I have 715 watts of CF lighting. It will still attain a height of over 12". I am in the process of getting rid of it, and replacing it with glossostigma. It does grow quite well though.

Thanks for the info.

Getting rid of it eh? Sell me some. haha.

And how do you plant these? Cause the ones i got obviously have no type of roots yet, and freshly cut.

Thanks

I am selling it! Look in the buy sell section. I have a thread with a big list of plants I have for sale.

To plant it, just stick an end of the plant into the substrate. It will grow out rather fast, although, it is easily uprooted, and does not send out large roots.

I have an idea to make a root system for it. Not sure how well it will work tho...

Il post it up after i figure it out.

Thanks

Ok, heres what i did.

Cut some strips of foam, used that foam to wrap around the stems to keep them togeather without crushing them. And zipties to hold it in place.

I've seen that done before, but it restricts the growth, and the nutrient uptake, causing the plants to grow very slowly. I just shove it into the substrate like any other plant, and it will grow fine just like that.
